When I bring the family their orders,
the woman stares at my tattoo.
She touches her egg, points
out that it is not firm enough.
Would you cook it a little longer?
Yes, of course, I aim to please.
Oh well, I smile a big one.
One waitress yells, beep-beep,
signals for that thin girl
to get out of the way…now.
