Rosalyn Marhatta

Tide SongPortrait of Rosalyn Marhatta

Filaments attach
themselves in lovers’ hearts
to push and pull
them between tides of frost
and fire.

You half float in my eyes
as I sip margaritas
on shore.
You sit there in your captain’s chair
sailing your life away from mine.

Rosalyn Marhatta lives in her own world to write poetry and pops out to perform at Tate Street Coffee House and the Greensboro Public Library. She decided to be a poet after her sister insisted her stories were really poems and she learned Hart Hanson (“Bones” TV show executive producer) liked poets. She’s published in “Dead Mule,” “Referential Magazine,” “Poems2Day,” “Diamond Diva Magazine,” “Eclectic Flash” and “Vox Poetica.” She was nominated in 2011 for a Pushcart Prize for her poem “Ocean Flight” in “Vox Poetica.”
